Why is there a computer museum in Kallio?

We have identified a fundamental cognitive challenge in modern information technology: devices do not teach users to understand the technology. In an increasingly technology-driven world, we believe this is a major shortcoming, as information technology is present everywhere, all the time. We decided to address this issue by offering school trips to educational institutions, where pupils can gain hands-on experience of technology and how it works. 

Whether students are keen on gaming, programming, music or culture, The Computer Museum of Kallio is the perfect place to pop in. There, things are experienced through hands-on activity and emotion; learning happens naturally as visitors tinker with the equipment in a traditional setting. Favourite computers from days gone by, such as Commodores and Ataris, are available for everyone to use. Here at the museum, we explain how the equipment works. Writing a BASIC programme or loading a programme from a C-cassette is an experience you simply cannot have anywhere else.
