Now you can enjoy the legendary computer culture that has long been lost. The museum enable the activities for home computing hobbyists. The Computer Museum of Kallio stands for these activities.
The wall poster represents something that has been lost. It represents computer culture from a time when computers were a luxury enjoyed by few and merely a promise of the future. The phrase "Computers for the masses" was the philosophy of the legendary Jack Tramiel as he sought to dominate the home computer market with Commodore.
The poster, which serves as a promotional product, is 100% produced by The Computer Museum of Kallio (excluding printing). The picture shows the museum's Amiga 1000 computer, which was won as the grand prize in Printti magazine's programming competition in 1986. Both the Amiga computer that was the grand prize and the winning program are on display at The Computer Museum of Kallio. The poster bears the stamp of the Kallio Computer Museum, which guarantees its authenticity.
The Computer Museum of Kallio is inspired by computer culture, its promotion, and its preservation for the future. The museum originated from an enthusiasm for a specific era, loosely defined as the computer culture of the late 1970s to the mid-1990s, before the spread of the Internet and the PC era. During this period, many interesting and enjoyable things happened that have since faded into the mists of history.
But are they gone for good? Not if The Computer Museum of Kallio has anything to say about it. From the museum's perspective, classic computers such as Commodore and Atari, among many others, were only out of sight for a short time. The Computer Museum of Kallio is bringing these temporarily absent devices back for everyone to use and reviving the hobbies associated with them. We think it's perfectly natural that someone would want to write programs on a 1984 Oric Atom or Sinclair Spectrum, for example. Not to mention games.
For this purpose, a support product has been created that values the computer culture of its time and helps to secure the museum's operations until 2026. And you can be part of this activity too.
