In the heart of Helsinki, in the culturally rich district of Kallio, lies one of the hidden gems of European computer culture: the Kallio Computer Museum. It is home to the I love 8-bit® - an exhibition that is a dynamic and immersive experience. The exhibition pays tribute to the golden age of home computers and the 8-bit revolution that swept through homes and offices back then!
The museum’s exhibition spaces are designed to resemble computer shops as they were in 1984. It can feel as though the PC, Internet and smartphone revolution never actually happened! Here, you can step into a world where cassettes, pixels and synthetic 8-bit sounds defined the dawn of the digital age. There, you can have fun in an environment that feels completely unreal by today’s standards. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else, at the touring showroom that is build by The Computer Museum of Kallio.
The standard duration of a recreational event is two hours, and for larger groups it can be extended if necessary. The event can be organised by booking at least 10 group tickets from the museum. The cost of one group ticket is €22.50 + 13.50% VAT. If not everyone is able to attend the recreational event, any unused group tickets can be used for the museum’s public events at weekends. Group tickets are versatile, as unused tickets can also be given as gifts.
