Computer Store 1984 is a mobile concept that can be set up in various locations in collaboration with the organizer. This model makes it easy to offer new experiences. It is designed to be an easily accessible and flexible solution. It adapts to various spaces and events, and its implementation is handled seamlessly from start to finish. The 1984 Computer Store comes with the highly popular I love 8-bit® computer exhibition, which is part of the 1984 Computer Store atmosphere.

The first implementation was in Helsinki, 2024–2026

The first iteration of the 1984 computer store was established on a trial basis in Helsinki in December 2024. The project was scheduled to end in March 2025. However, our experiment with a computer museum, built to resemble computer stores from the 1980s, proved so popular that operations will continue through the fourth quarter of 2026. The four-month project produced by The Computer Museum of Kallio ended up lasting two years. Staff have been hired there so that the museum could remain open as planned. 

The museum has not received any public funding to launch or sustain its operations, as the computer store established in 1984 has proven to be the key factor enabling the museum to continue its operations despite its limited opening hours.
